Today I found myself with a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . It was beautiful outside, so I decided to go do stuff. Including test driving !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! at a small-town dealership about 30 miles away.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I had tried and failed several times to go see this 944 Turbo, mostly because the dealership selling it isn't open very late, so I couldn't make it there. Except, today I could. It's a nice scenic drive out to the town where the dealer is, so I figured might as well make the trip. Along the way, there were of course some cows, because this is Wisconsin.

Moooooooooo.

Test drive report on the 944 Turbo will come later. But other sights along the ride included:

The !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Kinja'd!!!

And this Subaru boneyard with a bunch of weird stuff. I pulled into the dirt driveway and promptly kicked up a cloud of dust that came billowing through my open windows.

Kinja'd!!!

One of these things is not like the other.

More stuff from the boneyard:

I then went and checked out a Nissan 370Z convertible, which I didn't like very much. So there won't be a test drive report forthcoming on that one.

All in all, pretty solid day.

I didn't even notice it was a BMW in the first pic. I saw the Soobies and assumed it was an Impreza. lol

I always loved the 944 Turbo more than the 911 Turbo.

The 944 needed the turbo boost more than the 911 did. And the 944 Turbo was competitive with the base 911 of that time.

Having driven a non-turbo '86 911 recently, I can confidently say the 944 Turbo kicks the shit out of the 911 in everything except headroom and looks.

interesting it has less headroom.

I like how the 944 looks. I don't think it looks better or worse than 911. It's just different...

The old 911 is a more upright car than the 944. Plus the 911 I drove was a Targa which I think has a little more head room than a regular hard top 911.

Since images are disabled, I can't post a direct comparison, but here's the '86 Targa with a whale tail I drove a while back. I think it looks way better.

The 944 Turbo is way better to drive.

Ah, that makes sense. The 944 is probably more slippery but the 911 being upright gives it dat extra head room.

That continues to be the best part of the 911. I was just driving my 997 today and marveling at how much headroom it has. I have never been in another sports car that has more head room

Nah, the tail lights are different and the roof line is different. My mom has a 2012 Impreza.

I know, I work at a Subaru dealer. It just didn't catch my eye as I was scrolling through and assumed.
